This workbook for new K-12 teachers explains theories and practices for excellence in teaching, and offers practice exercises, questionnaires, charts, dialogues, sample lesson plans, activities, and reflection questions with space for handwritten answers. Areas explored include lesson planning, classroom management, differentiating instruction, assessment, literacy, and National Board certification. Appendices provide lists of readings and web sites, and a self-assessment instrument. The second edition includes more information on curriculum development and technology, more sample lesson plans, and a new section on bullying. Glanz is chair of Professional Ethics and Values in the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education at Yeshiva University in New York City.
